“Let’s try that our actions always leave
a green footprint in our path.”

The celebration of World Environment Day this year talks about the attention and awareness of pollution caused by plastics,  a fact that has a dramatic and contradictory impact on societies around the world due to the great benefits that derive from its use for the manufacture of hundreds of thousands of products that we use on a daily basis in our homes, workplace, recreation centers and public places, but that at the same time their inadequate disposal at the end of their useful lifecycle causes serious damage to the environment, mainly in seas and oceans.

The increasing global dependence on the use of disposable plastic materials is really overwhelming. More than 50% of the annual plastic production estimated at 335 million metric tons in 2016, was allotted to the manufacturing of single-use products like bags, water bottles and diapers that end up discarded in the environment. If this trend is not reversed by the year 2050, it is estimated that the oceans will contain, by weight, more plastic than fish, and which unfortunately our planet cannot digest.

Faced with this reality, hundreds of specialized institutions, international institutions such as UNEP and environmental professionals around the world, devote great efforts and important resources in the study and search of economic, technological, socially viable and sustainable solutions to the environmental pollution problem caused by plastic, which paradoxically is generated by the attributes that give it its utility, specifically its high durability and physical resistance because they are synthetic materials that are essentially non-biodegradable or highly resistant.

In addition, environmental awareness and education programs aimed at local communities and the global society to promote the rational and responsible use of plastic materials, from homes to industry, through the implementation of best practices of usage, which includes the reduction, reuse and recycling of these products. Likewise, progress is being made in the development and implementation of an extensive regulatory and standardization framework that promotes and encourages the progressive reduction of its consumption and the development of alternate biodegradable substitute materials that are environmentally friendly.

As a company dedicated to the provision of integrated environmental services, we have always visualized the recycling of plastic, as an area of opportunity to contribute in the search for temporary solutions to this serious and growing problem. We promote the installation and operation of plastic recycling plants, with innovative commercial modalities, using modern and efficient technologies available in the market, complemented with the development of creative applications that maximize their useful life, while at the same time promote awareness to the rejection of single-use plastic products.

In this line of action, our company definitely seeks active participation to contribute in the improvement of the quality of the environment and the quality of life of individuals and communities in the places and countries in which we develop our activities, thinking globally and acting locally in initiatives that add to the multiple solutions that are required to solve environmental problems caused by plastic pollution.

Let’s try that our actions always leave a green footprint on our path.
